Warrior Sailing is a growing program servicing wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans around the country. Since it began in 2013, it hosted 12 training camps graduating over 170 new sailors into the sport. As a mobile program, Warrior Sailing now offers ASA certifications and has partnered with over 40 clubs, facilities and centers in sailing. The program will return to the San Diego area in June to host a Basic Training Camp, a 3-day intense training experience.

The key to Warrior Sailing is to expose our participants to the various aspects of sailing while breaking down barriers for both visible and non-visible disabilities. Our overall achievement is growing the sport in a fun, safe and inclusive manner.

How about helping us achieve that goal during the 2017 SCYA Midwinter Regatta? To those sailors in the San Diego area who are looking for crew for the regatta, consider taking a Warrior Sailing graduate as crew. The graduates will have various skill levels and many are new to sailing, but all have been introduced to the basics of sailing.
